About The Event
Encounter Nights are the closest thing we do to a typical "church service" with musical worship, children's ministry, and a message. We meet every 1st & 3rd Sunday night in Canton, Michigan (location may change soon as we are growing and nearing capacity, so be sure to re-check this page before you come for the first time).
These meetings are designed for believers (evangelism happens outside the church, and seekers/inquirers are generally invited to house church meetings). The Encounter Night meeting emphasizes a shared, purposeful "drawing near" to God as He draws near to us. We expect a tangible sense of God's presence, miracles, and personal spiritual renewal at every gathering.
Typical schedule:
5:30–6:00p // Prayer
6:00–6:35p // Worship
6:35–6:55p // Testimonies & Announcements
6:55–7:45p // Message
7:45– ? ? ? // Ministry / Altar Time
Children:
We believe it's valuable for children to see their parents and other adults worshipping God and engaging His presence. We also like our kids to participate in our testimony time. For this reason, families remain together through the first part of the meeting, and children are dismissed after the testimony time.
Nursery is available for young children up to age 4, and children's ministry is available for kids up through age 11.
If you have kids, the check-in table will be available through pre-service prayer and the first ten minutes of worship. Then it will open again (after testimonies) as kids transition to their classes. All children need to be checked in and checked out by a parent or guardian.
Speakers:
Messages are delivered at our Encounter Nights by a variedy of leaders from throughout our network (and occasionally guest missionaries or itinerant ministers). Our Senior Leadership Team prayerfully organizes the speaking schedule, sharing responsibility for preaching/teaching as the Spirit leads.
